Root Capital Chosen as the Nonprofit Partner for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters’ Collaboration with Kevin Costner
In celebration of a new series of coffee blends inspired by the actor, Root Capital will receive a $100,000 donation from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters®
Cambridge, MA — Today, Root Capital, a nonprofit social impact investor that supports agricultural enterprises in Latin America, Africa and southeast Asia, is sharing an exciting partnership between Green Mountain Coffee Roasters® and iconic actor Kevin Costner. The beloved coffee brand and award-winning actor have teamed up to craft a series of exclusive coffee blends, the first of which is a bold and smoky dark roast named Horizon Blend by Kevin Costner. Root Capital was selected to be the nonprofit partner of this collaboration and will receive a $100,000 donation from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters®.
In remote, rural areas, farmers operate on razor-thin margins. But as part of a local agricultural enterprise, they can boost their incomes and invest in long-term resilience. Root Capital provides these enterprises with access to capital and technical advisory services focused on business management, climate action, gender equity, and next generation jobs. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters® has been a valued partner of Root Capital’s work for more than 20 years. Together with their support, Root Capital has been able to expand and grow its pioneering credit plus capacity model, and to date has helped more than 2.4 million farming families build prosperity and resilience.

Horizon Blend by Kevin Costner will be available online via Keurig.com starting December 18, 2023, and in select retailers nationwide beginning January 2024.
