Elizabeth Teague

Growing up outside of Washington, D.C. in an international community, I’ve always been interested in international politics and development. Then, before I joined Root Capital, I had the opportunity to work as a farmhand at an agricultural training center in Japan for rural leaders from Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Living with people from all over the world and hearing their stories about the challenges on their farms back home made me want to work to improve agricultural systems. I feel lucky to now work in a role where I can pursue both of these interests, in a capacity where I’m constantly inspired by our clients’ stewardship of their communities and ecosystems. As Root Capital’s Environmental and Social Performance Manager, I oversee our social and environmental due diligence platform and our climate strategy. Outside of work, I spend as much time as possible outside in beautiful New England: sailing and road biking in the summer, skiing in the winter, and hiking and sea kayaking in between.
