Elizabeth Teague

Senior Director, Climate Resilience

Growing up outside of Washington, D.C. in an international community, Lizzie has always been interested in international politics and development. Then, before she joined Root Capital, she had the opportunity to work as a farmhand at an agricultural training center in Japan for rural leaders from Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Living with people from all over the world and hearing their stories about the challenges on their farms back home made her want to work to improve agricultural systems. She feels lucky to now work in a role where she can pursue both of these interests, in a capacity where she is constantly inspired by our clients’ stewardship of their communities and ecosystems. As Root Capital’s Senior Director of Climate Resilience, she oversees our social and environmental due diligence platform and our climate strategy. Outside of work, she spends as much time as possible outside in beautiful New England: sailing and road biking in the summer, skiing in the winter, and hiking and sea kayaking in between.
