  • Chief Program Officer, Skoll Foundation

Salah Goss serves as Chief Program Officer at Skoll Foundation. She has spent her career building the systems, tools, and institutions that expand economic access for underserved communities across Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and the United States. Salah spent more than a decade at Mastercard, where she helped establish its financial inclusion line of business—work that required building new technologies and earned her a patent. As Senior Vice President, Salah oversaw Mastercard’s philanthropic giving across the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean, where she established a robust, commercially sustainable social-impact portfolio, unlocking capital to support over 1 million small businesses. Earlier in her career, Salah oversaw the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s financial inclusion work in Nigeria, Indonesia, and the Philippines, where her team helped pioneer mobile money as a financial inclusion tool. She began her career in Africa, first in Senegal as Grants Officer for the George Soros Open Society Initiative for West Africa, and later in Egypt with a focus on Islamic banking. Salah is a World Economic Forum and Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur awardee, an Aspen Institute Finance Leader Fellow, a Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center 2024 Resident, and a Cornell University Thoreau Fellow.
