Senior Manager, Philanthropy

Jessica Lee

I have spent my career working alongside social entrepreneurs in different sectors to ensure they have the resources they need. After launching my career at Ashoka in Washington, D.C., I have since matched AmeriCorps volunteers with nonprofits, helped bring a documentary on masculinity to the Sundance Film Festival, and developed a marketing campaign for a new granola bar for kids. At Root Capital, I’m responsible for ensuring that our philanthropic supporters, both individuals and families, have a wonderful experience partnering with us. I aim to bring our partners’ love of humanity to life by learning what they’re passionate about and thinking creatively about how we can work together to achieve a better and more just world. I have a young son, which takes up a lot of my free time—but when I’m not spending time with him, I enjoy yoga, choral singing, and reading fiction. I try to remain active in social movements for racial justice and reproductive rights.
