Jessica Lee
Senior Manager, PhilanthropyI have spent my career working alongside social entrepreneurs in different sectors to ensure they have the resources they need. After launching my career at Ashoka in Washington, D.C., I have since matched AmeriCorps volunteers with nonprofits, helped bring a documentary on masculinity to the Sundance Film Festival, and developed a marketing campaign for a new granola bar for kids. At Root Capital, I’m responsible for ensuring that our philanthropic supporters, both individuals and families, have a wonderful experience partnering with us. I aim to bring our partners’ love of humanity to life by learning what they’re passionate about and thinking creatively about how we can work together to achieve a better and more just world. I have a young son, which takes up a lot of my free time—but when I’m not spending time with him, I enjoy yoga, choral singing, and reading fiction. I try to remain active in social movements for racial justice and reproductive rights.
