Yessenia Canda

While she was born in Nicaragua’s capital of Managua, Yessenia’s favorite memory growing up was visiting her grandmother every Sunday on her farm outside of the city. On that farm, she got to experience a life so different than what she knew—a life where she felt closer to nature and to agriculture. Now, through her role at Root Capital, I get to learn so much more about agriculture and rural development. As Senior HR Associate, Yessenia connects with her teammates to improve the effectiveness and efficiency across the organization. She provides the HR department with solid and consistent support. She likes that she gets to collaborate with her colleagues across the organization, and is excited to play a small part in contributing to the growth of rural businesses.
