Mary Barton-Dock
Former Director of Climate Policy and Finance, Former Country Director for Haiti, The World BankMary Barton-Dock’s career with the World Bank has brought her across the globe. For four years, Mary oversaw operations for the World Bank in Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Sao Tome and Principe. She also spent four years as the World Bank’s Country Director in Haiti, where she broke barriers as the first woman to hold the position. Before that, Mary led the World Bank’s climate policy and climate finance initiatives out of their Washington, D.C. headquarters, managing critical climate financing, such as the Climate Investment Funds, the Carbon Finance Unit, the Global Environment Facility, and the Montreal Protocol. There, she oversaw the development and publication of key reports such as Turn Down the Heat: Why a Four-Degree World Must Be Avoided, oversaw key advancements in the organization’s climate strategy, and launched the World Bank’s Global Program for Oceans.
