David Lozano

Head of Advisory, Mexico and Central America

In 1994, I began work as a trainer in Guatemalan refugee camps. In working alongside incredible people there I learned that sustainable community development is built on respecting the individual knowledge, context and needs of each person. Since then I have worked to promote co-learning processes in our Latin American operations. At Root Capital I oversee the Advisory Services program that helps 70 organizations in Mexico and Central America optimize their business management, assuring we provide quality services and have deep impact. Other activities that I enjoy are hiking and mountain biking with my human and canine friends. I am a radio host for a poetry program, and since 1998 I have collaborated with La Puerta Negra–an NGO that I co-founded–where we look for alternative forms of masculinity that promote more equitable relationships between genders.
