Allan Santamaría

I grew up in a rural area of Costa Rica, where my family and most of my neighbors made a living through agriculture. I see myself in the people that Root Capital supports, and I’m glad that my work contributes to an organization that invests in the agricultural businesses that make farming a viable livelihood for millions of people. As our operations and legal affairs officer, I’m responsible for making sure that loans comply with local laws and Root Capital’s own credit policies. Through my job, I see thousands of people gain access to better living conditions and opportunities that they wouldn’t be able to access without our client businesses. I’m grateful to play a small role in promoting rural development and environmental sustainability around the world.
