Women in Agriculture Initiative 2021 Mid-year Update

In the first half of 2021, Root Capital continued to invest in the success of women farmers, employees, and entrepreneurs through our Women in Agriculture Initiative. Our 2021 Mid-year Update provides an update on our progress this year, and our cumulative progress since the initiative's launch in 2012. This report also includes, for the first time ever, metrics tracking progress towards our 2025 goals—a critical step in deepening our support for rural women as they transform the world.

Some exciting highlights include:

• Women have made up an all-time high 35% of workshop participants so far this year;
• Over a quarter of the businesses in our portfolio are women-led;
• We helped three businesses launch savings and credit cooperatives to help women achieve greater financial independence;
