Entity Type: We focus on financing on producer organizations (e.g., Cooperatives, Associations) and for-profit agricultural businesses that generate positive social and environmental impact.
Years in Operation: 3 years of business operations.
Minimum Annual Revenue: $100,000
Location: Must be legally established in one of Root Capital’s lending countries within Africa, Latin America, or Southeast Asia (see Where We Work).
Documentation: Must present audited or management-prepared financial statements from the past three years.
Products & Services: Must be active in one or more of the industries in which we work: coffee, cocoa, honey, tree nuts, vanilla, grains, oilseeds, and other staple crops.

Commercial Relationships: Must have strong relationships with established buyers.
Social and Environmental Expectations: Business is not engaging in the following practices:

Degradation of Protected Areas and Intact Forest Landscapes;
Harvest of or trade in endangered species;
Remuneration of workers below national minimum wage;
Exploitive, forced, or harmful child labor; and
Infringement on the land rights of indigenous peoples or communities.
