Earlier in the week, the Aspen Network for Development Entrepreneurs (known as ANDE) hosted its annual metrics conference in Washington, DC. At the event, Root Capital was proud to join ANDE and Dalberg Global Development Advisors in introducing a vision for the next phase of impact measurement in the small and growing business (SGB) sector.
In case you missed the conference, you can learn more about the new approach in a piece we co-authored for the Stanford Social Innovation Review called, Metrics 3.0: A New Vision for Shared Metrics. Root Capital’s Mike McCreless, Dalberg’s CJ Fonzi and ANDE’s Genevieve Edens and Saurbh Lall, illustrate exactly the kind of thinking and industry collaboration needed to propel the sector forward. It’s a great contribution to our space and one which I hope inspires a larger conversation in the community around shifting the emphasis of the next phase of metrics from accountability (Metrics 1.0) and standardization (Metrics 2.0) to value creation (Metrics 3.0).
