Darcy joined Root Capital in 2011 as Chief Credit Officer. She leads Root Capital’s credit risk management function, which includes credit policy and procedures, underwriting standards and tools, credit administration, portfolio risk management, and collections and workout. Her previous experience combines eleven years in commercial banking and fourteen years in microfinance. As a commercial banker, she worked for TD Bank, Citizens (formerly RBS Citizens), and Bank of America, where she was responsible for underwriting and managing credit portfolios across a wide spectrum of middle market and corporate industries, including manufacturing, business services, retail, not-for-profit health care and education, and municipal and state governments. Prior to entering commercial banking, Darcy worked at Accion (formerly ACCION International), where she held numerous positions, including Director of Credit and Investment Analysis and Director of Financial Analysis. In these positions, Darcy was responsible for analyzing the performance and creditworthiness of microfinance institutions. Darcy holds an M.B.A. from Simmons University and is co-author of two microfinance sector publications: The ACCION CAMEL Technical Note and Performance and Standards in Microfinance: ACCION’s Experience with CAMEL Instrument. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French.
