In my work as a Junior Portfolio Manager at Root Capital, I support the lending team in analyzing and monitoring loan applications and performance for agricultural businesses across East Africa. Growing up in Machakos County, Kenya, I was surrounded by the same coffee and macadamia farmers that I now help supply with credit. Upon graduating from university, I began a career in banking with a specialty in asset finance, portfolio management, credit analysis and debt collection. I am excited to join Root Capital where I combine my experience in the financial sector with my passion for positively impacting the livelihoods of smallholder farmers—especially those excluded from the formal banking system. When not at work, I like travelling, watching movies, and spending time with my family.
