Claire KozowerHuman Resources and Administration Manager
I have a passion for sustainable agriculture, recognizing how many of our biggest social and environmental problems are linked to our food production systems. After college, I spent twenty years working on organic vegetable farms in the Northeast United States and co-coordinating grant programs to start farm-to-school programs and school gardens in public schools. From 2008-2015, I was Executive Director of Waltham Fields Community Farm, a nonprofit vegetable farm focused on fresh food assistance and education. Now, I’m excited to have taken my commitment to agriculture in an international direction: by supporting the staff of an organization dedicated to improving the lives of small farmers around the world. At Root Capital, I’m responsible for assisting with core HR functions, creating a high-functioning and enjoyable work environment, managing general inquiries, and leading initiatives to foster a strong culture. I appreciate how much day-to-day duties contribute to the core of a successful mission-driven organization. When I’m not in the office, you can almost always find me in my garden or kitchen.
