Juan P. Morillo
Juan is a partner at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, based in its Washington, D.C. His practice focuses on advising clients in criminal and civil government investigations, conducting internal investigations, and defending clients in class actions and other civil lawsuits. Juan devotes a substantial amount of time to pro bono matters, including having advised the Colombian government on matters related to victims of the violence resulting from the long war involving the government, FARC, and paramilitaries. He has appeared on CNN, Fox, CNBC, Univision, and NPR. At the age of 37, The American Lawyer selected him as one of the top 50 litigators in the country under the age of 45. Prior to joining Cleary Gottlieb, he was a partner at Clifford Chance. He also served as law clerk to the Honorable Ricardo M. Urbina of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He is a member of the Bars in the District of Columbia and Florida.Juan holds a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from the University of Miami.
